AVIS WINS 1ST INAUGURAL SA HERCULES TROPHY CHALLENGE IN CELEBRATION OF NELSON MANDELA’S 94TH BIRTHDAY

In celebration of 67 minutes for Mandela Day on the 18th of July 2012, Avis Rent a Car amongst 48  other corporate teams participated in the SA Hercules Trophy Challenge. After a gruelling day on the obstacle course, Avis Rent a Car, true to their brand promise of “We try harder” proudly secured not only the 1st place win but third, fifth and the trophy for Best Flying Trapeze.

 

The win saw the leading car rental brand walking away with R67,000, which will go towards its chosen charity, Jumping Kids.  An overjoyed Johan Snyders from Jumping Kids commented that this donation will assist in making prosthesis limbs for three more children in disadvantaged communities.

Representing Avis in the CEO Challenge were executives Wayne Duvenage and Corne Langehoven, who not only made it through to the quarter finals, but also managed to put additional points onto the overall Avis team scoreboard .
